“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tzu

Testing, Testing...

My very first post! Another tick off my list of things to prepare before our trip to Australia in 4 weeks time. FOUR WEEKS TIME!?..
For years I have wanted to travel around the world. My dad has fueled my aspirations since I was a little girl with his tales of various strange places and bizarre experiences and now, here I am (or rather, we are, as I must include my loyal travelling partner and lovely boyfriend - cue Luke's sisters' gagging noises, Luke - A.K.A. Luca/Hodges), about to embark on our travels Down Under.

With our flights booked for the 16th September leaving LHR @ 17:00hrs; VISAs granted; packs bought; belongings boxed and loft'd(ed/ededed?!); car sold; money saved; P86 (and every 'P' number form inbetween) submitted; washing lines and sink plugs purchased; Lonely Planet Guide handy; CVs updated; the list goes on...  You would think we would be ready? I was, until it dawned on me... I'm going to Australia in FOUR WEEKS! And, I will be gone for a long time (sorry mum)!

I don't want to abuse my new blog too much or taint it with pre-Australia posts (PAPs) so i'll go now and leave you with my new favorite quote:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
